Not always a class
One structure, and what you build on it is your school's
A Space is a structure: members, content, a calendar, a channel and a leaderboard. Anything that needs those five can be one.
A school class
A subject, a section and a term: the common case.
A competition
An olympiad or a challenge between sections, with its own leaderboard and members from different classes.
A training programme
Teacher training, or a summer programme, with its own content and attendance.
A club or an activity
The robotics club or the drama team, with its members, its channel and its dates.
And a school does not learn a second system to run the competition, because the competition is the same structure.
